Default What ways of improving English, especially speaking skills, can you recommend?

I listen to the BBC channel a lot. Even if I'm cooking, it's always switched on.
On the other hand, it's the news channel and you can go mad after listening to the same information over and over again.

Talking on skype helps me improve speaking skills. My friends and I choose a topic for discussion, prepare for it and talk.

I like the website "Livemocha" for learning landuges, there you can train your listening, speaking, writing.Native speakers will check your exercises and correct the mistakes. I think "Livemocha" is one of the best way of improvement your knoledges.Beside of it you can help other people to learn Russian.

Learning whole expressions can be very useful. You see, words are not used in isolation and often form part of an expression of fixed set of words.
'Chunks' appear in all sorts of ways: as collocations, idioms and set-phrases. Learn 'chunks' of vocabulary rather than individual words.
Follow the rule: Don't learn the words, learn the company they keep.

It's an ideal situation. How do you manage to think in English?

To improve English speaking skills, you should try to speak in english with friends and relatives, listen english news and movies. You can also join online courses to learn English. There with the help of native speakers you can share every problem and can chat with them.
