What is (or was) difficult for you to understand in learning the English language?

Transcription, especially for the first two years. Each time I came across an unknown world I had to look it up in the dictionary.

For me it is rather difficult to use the verb with right preposition (such as: to wait for smth, to meet smb, to concern to smth)
And I'm never really sure in using articles (the or no the)

I agree! Sometimes the grammer is quite difficult and really boring. But I`m sure the spoken engl.. is more important ))) anyway, we need to look for a partner or a group of people who want to improve engl..

you should read more books and find a good conversation partner. It' all you need not to be bored of grammer and fearing of making mistakes. What do you say?

You gave excellent, very good advice not be boring of grammar and not fear of making mistakes. Many people are afraid of making mistakes in English grammar, including me. We must just throw away all fears and openly interact with native speakers or just here with each other. And I think that It's very important also to have good vocabulary.

Marina, throw your fears out of the window. A good site to communicate with native speakers of many languages is busuu.com. The best electronic Russian-English-Russian dictionary is Multitran. There's an online version:: multitran.ru.
