View Full Version : Let's speak English..... About everything

10-24-2008, 11:37 PM
Hi, let me introduced myself..... I'm Babenko Lubov, from Kiev the capital of Ukraine (v) In aur country is very unstable political situation.... :-S Hwo have *somthing to tell about it? :-P

10-25-2008, 12:17 AM
Conversation's topic is great ;-) *(Y)! Congratulations (v)!!! Introduction is also fine!!! However, from my point of view, it is too early for this topic, because we have got just 490 people! Hopefully, I am making a mistake about actuality of this subject! Furthervore number of visitors is increasing sharply :-D! Actually, I prefer conversation like this by on-line's rules in programs such as ICQ or Scype or Windows Live Messenger (which is even beter than other), when you have to think and write quickly! Of course, firstly you will do more spelling and grammar mistakes, but your skills will definitelly improve during a while!!! What do you think about it! Unfortunatelly i know not so much about political situation in Ukraine!

10-25-2008, 10:14 AM
I propose to *think together about the subject that we'll discuss here. Fully agree with Segey, that political situation in Ukrain and generally is not the best one...

Naucite i menea angliiscovo PLEASE

10-26-2008, 12:15 PM
well, don't u think we shouldn't start with politics? for many people its just boring ;) and for some its just difficult to talk about simple things, so maybe we should talk about the weather :D so, behind my window the wind is now trying to break it BUT there's no rain and that's why i'm going outside now for a smoke ;)

10-27-2008, 05:55 AM
Look guys, there is a good saying: "When people start talking about the weather, this means that they have nothing to say to each other any more."

Don't wanna be an idle talker, that is why I propose to your judgement my topic for discussion: "Related nations. Similarity and differences." ;-)

10-27-2008, 12:04 PM
i started about the weather because people always try to change the topic after that - the matter is that everyone knows that saying ;)

what do u mean with "related nations"? just all the people in the world or what? never heard these words together.. if so, we can talk about that :)

10-27-2008, 02:55 PM
Similarities and differences of different nations, if I understood corectly, is very attractive topic for discussion ;-); however, I think, that firstly we have to talk about something more useful for everyone in this amasing group (lo)! For instence, we can start to discuss or even describe (which is more correctly in this case) the ways by which everyone of us has been studying English. What or which things you have to do (study) firstly to be succesful in further education. For example, from my point of view, vocabulary and basic grammar are very important at the begining! And any learner has to read as much english articals as he or she cans (even if it's boring) |-(!!! I think, Natalia Bujor has been interesting in these very useful, on my view, ideas :-D!!! What do you say, guys ;-) *(Y)???

10-27-2008, 03:37 PM
Sergey, * would you propose *the most interesting topic for discussion :-)

10-27-2008, 03:39 PM
Our topic named "....... about everything" ;-)

10-27-2008, 07:25 PM
Lubov, I think that the topic had been already proposed by Sergey.

Let's discuss "Related nations. Similarity and differences."

I think it will be fun to nominate each nation, *for example: The most greedy, happy, military etc. nation,

First of all let's choose "the most joyness and happy nation"

With a fully respect for russians I suppose that brazilians are the winners in that nomination *:-D

10-27-2008, 07:40 PM
Dear Lubovi :-D, could you specify what exuctly you do not like in my proposal, or maybe I just misunderstood the meaning of your last few sentences :-S. Please explane what have you meant by "About everything" *-). Do you allow evrybody write everything what ever he/she want, without matter will it in form of conversation or not? If so, i really do not understend what the point of this forum!!! But if you addressed your advices to my first messange, i just want to ask you to read it one more time ;-), especialy read the second message, where the new topic was proposed (read all discussion (forum) even better)!!! Any way, if I do not right, please take my apologies :-$ *(lo) and sorry for my English :'(! (Agree about Brazil *(H) *(Y)- Vasiliy)

10-27-2008, 07:41 PM
Vasilij, the greediest one is the Germans, to my mind;

concerning the happiest I agree with you.

but what about us? I can't pick up a description for the Russians.

Can you? *:-D

10-27-2008, 07:45 PM
Russia is the most military (*) (at least in the past :-$)! What do you say (H)?

10-27-2008, 07:46 PM
in the past - yeah, but what about the present? *:-)

10-27-2008, 07:52 PM
I'm a bit comfused about desribtion of russian people, but I still 100% sure that our youth are very onward (lo) *(Y)!!!

10-27-2008, 07:57 PM
Serg.... I'm ready *to take part in disscussion about *"Related nations. Similarity and differences.".... but may I ask * you *"your *phrase about Russian such *as *the most millitary

coutry? is it just a joke? ;-)"

10-27-2008, 08:01 PM
We also can try to find out some differences and similarities between nations if we comper Brazil with another happy country (nation) ;-)! Which nation is more happy than brazilian people (dt)? What do you think (H)?

10-27-2008, 08:03 PM
Before I give you the answer (it was a joke) - what country are you from??? *:-D *:-D *:-D *:-D *:-D

10-27-2008, 08:07 PM
If seriously, I wrote - "at least in the past", becouse when I was writing I remembered the Stalin's time *:-S ! *;-)

10-27-2008, 08:11 PM
I think than it can't be ..... the most happy nation.... all people is feel *happiness in different *way...... and it is not depend.... what nation or *color of skine whey have... It is better to say, that brazilians is emotional nation :-)

10-27-2008, 08:13 PM
But I think, that you remembered Putin's time ;-)

10-27-2008, 08:14 PM
I'm from Ukraine! :-)

10-27-2008, 08:22 PM
Cool (H)! I support your opinion about: "All people is feel *happiness in different *way", but if we will consider this topic deeper, we can damage our brains :-O! So, let's try to make some fun from it *:-D!!! *;-) *(Y)

10-27-2008, 08:33 PM
Sorry Lubovi, but unfortunately, I have to go :'(! Hopefully, will see you in a couple of hours ;-) *(Y)!!! Take a care of you (H) *(Y)! Bye!

10-27-2008, 08:36 PM
Bye-bye (v) :-)

10-28-2008, 06:32 PM
Hi everybody...... *:-D Where are you? *-)

10-28-2008, 09:59 PM
all i can say about brazil is that these people are not the happiest in the world :P i was there for one month - they're more.. lazy? noone works between 1 and 2 p.m. i was there for DELL and replaced some desktops in some offices, so i know what some of them have installed on their computers - games, porn, music - all that stuff to avoid work ;)

i also don't agree that the germans are the greediest nation - i live here and in my honest opinion most of the german people are nerds and they think they are individual but they're not.. sometimes i understand why hitler was so successful here - germans need some facts, then they believe everything ;)

where i learned english? at scool, but the vocabular i got playing online games on international servers - there u have to speak english =) last year, when i worked for dell, i was travelling around the world, so i had to speak english too..

10-28-2008, 11:44 PM
hi everybody *:-)

10-29-2008, 04:23 AM
Talking about nothing.

Ku Ltp
10-29-2008, 04:51 AM
yes,we mast have a topic to speak

10-29-2008, 06:05 PM
Natalia and Igor, if you will look through the posts bellow, you will see that we had allready chosen the topic for discussion.

10-29-2008, 08:02 PM
Regarding brazilians: NO!R, don't you think that they can be happiest and lazziest simolteneously ? :-D I remember one picture that is very deep in my mind when brazilian old men dancing while listening music from portative radio on the bus stop. (It wasn't seems like he is uot of his mind, just ordinary oldmen) And there is such a feeling that happyness is on the air...

P.s. To NO!R. How did you find brazzilian girls? I think it separately subject for discussin.... (H)

10-29-2008, 10:51 PM
a good question.. imho, if you REALLY want to feel happy, you must understand WHY you are happy. happyness isn't just a feeling for me.. but there's a saying that fools are happy because they don't know.. maybe that's true. i wished i was a fool to avoid all the dark thoughts about my life, but probably i'm not.. so maybe you're right - lazy people are often not as smart as they could be.. maybe its the temperature ;)

aaaaaand brazilian girls.. well, i got used to them after two weeks, some of them are cute, but generally i don't like latinas like i don't like africans - it's not because i am a racist - i just have got another imagination of beauty ;)

10-29-2008, 11:36 PM
Agree...I think that joyfull is *suitable description for brazillians.... I meant that.

10-30-2008, 07:50 AM
yeah =) joyful is the right word! that's why they're good at soccer :P

10-30-2008, 02:49 PM
Hi, rather interesting discussions of other nationalities. To my mind the same sutuation with lazyness and enjoying yourselves takes place in many countries!

I can say for sure, that's it true for Cuba, & I've heard a lot about Spanish people, their siesta, their view of life.... untill 30 they are still children *:-)

10-31-2008, 09:40 AM
true =) there are lazy people everywhere doing nothing all day long :P in germany people without jobs get a so-called "social help" - money, as long as they remain without a job. i think that leads to lazyness more than anything else - when your fridge is empty you'd rather go outside to look for a job.. well, i am in the same situation now - i applyed to the university, but i haven't got a place, i hope next year. so last week i visited this welfare-office and applyed for money but just 1 hour ago i decided to abort the request and to look for a job on my own ;) but thats not the topic :P

what do u think bout scandinavian people and especially the music of the north? =)

10-31-2008, 02:43 PM
As for german people, I've heard about this help & absolutely agree with u *here, firstly it leads to lazyness then to degradation, may be that&39;s not so bad that many people in Russia have hard conditions for development, but, on the other side, not all peple use it in this way & also degradate, so, to my mind, everything depends on a person, & it's up to everyone to choose his or her way of life, that's why poor people can became rich & rich ones can loose everything.

as for scandinavian people, I don't know anything about their way of life, but it seems to me that i heard this North music, that you are talking about/ not long ago i was passing by the cinema in my city & heard very nice live music, so I went closer and a group of people playng some musical instruments made from empty pipes..... his they looked like Indians.... & this musik was absolutely amazing, coming through every cell of your body & soul. *:-)

10-31-2008, 05:45 PM
Irina, perhaps, that was a Latin American folk music (Mexican most likely). Did they wear ponchos? If so, then I do not understand why you lead conversation of North music.

Anyway, who can characterise Japanese and Chinese nations? I don't have relevant knowledge of these nations, so I see slight defference between them. They seem to be very hardworking and purposeful and....surely mostly stick to there old and rich traditions unlike Americans. :-)

10-31-2008, 06:15 PM
Sergey, may be you are right, but unfortunately I don't remember if *they wore ponchos or not *:-)

10-31-2008, 11:28 PM
I've heard so-called "behind the table" :-D song of norwegians ...have no idea how to describe it...it was like a song of pirates in our soviet animation films...singing and screaming periodically.

As for asian... Honesty speaking haven't been there, but I know for example, that you have a risk to get into the prison if you are smiling while looking at the portrait of imperator *of Thailand...Death penalty for forbidden drugs in China.....

Very strict regulations...Don't you think?

11-02-2008, 02:41 PM
yeah! if *they catch you in singapore with marihuana - death penalty ;) strict, but effective.. sometimes i wish there were more laws like that because there are always dumb people doing bad things and poisoning my life.. whatever..

asian people are different in their way of life, its more religious, more their culture that's the basic difference.

the nordish music i had in mind was like Nightwish, HIM, Shaman etc. =) Melodic metal and folk metal.. well, i like it ;)

11-02-2008, 11:42 PM
so there is a similar thing to the "american dream"? let's call it the "japanese dream" ;) from dishes to riches.. =)

11-03-2008, 04:51 PM
do u like japanese cartoons, so called "animes"? i'm sure they're popular not only here in germany ^^ i like them.. things like Noir ;) or Burst Angel or Chobits and so on..

11-03-2008, 08:03 PM
of course i like russian cartoons too.. the ones created in the late time of USSR.. 80ies.. my youth.. the movies also, like "Усатый нянь" or "гостья из будущего" or "Электроник" - all the same old great stuff, but thats the past and animes are part of japanese presence - they have also a message, but you have to open your mind to see it.. you've got to turn on your imagination sometimes ;)

12-15-2008, 12:36 PM
On a dark desert highway cool wind in my hair, warm smell of colitas rising up through air... Up ahead in the distance I saw a shimmering light... My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim... I had to stop for the night... There she stood in the doorway... I heard the mission bell... And I was thinking to myself :"This could be Heaven or this could be Hell ." Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way... There were voices down the corridor... I thought I heard them said... * What did they say?..

12-15-2008, 02:28 PM
Welcome to the Hotel California...

Thanks a lot, you've made my day :-)

12-15-2008, 03:17 PM
going back to cartoons topic.I love russian cartoons, especially when u really strat to understand them,it make them even more fun.But won`t forget that anime is part of japanese culture,so for them for example "Ghost in the shell" is same as "Ejik v Tumane" *:-D for us and "ejik'' would be copmlete crap for them.

Talking on technical side, russian cartoons are not hand-drawn anymore same as anime,so i would say there is no difference anymore.Computer generated graphic adds new colors and deep so same image looks much better.

Conclusion modern russian cartoon is anime as well ;-) ;-).Which is cool (v)

12-15-2008, 07:05 PM
Yes,and no.

For example "Titanik" for 25 oscars but not everyone consider it as best movie in the world.

Remember that festivals award for creativity, design and e.t.c,not for favourism *;-)

12-15-2008, 08:41 PM
exactly, personally i love ejik but some people think its either too childish or just make no sense.Same about Titanik, its a true story, but for me that was crappy movie with crappy actors(yes i like word crap :-))

12-15-2008, 08:45 PM
but making things short, will say, that everybody has different opinion and different point of view,so there no point to argue about what come first chicken or egg,it always will be fish.... :-)

12-19-2008, 04:04 PM
Down the river drifts an axe

From the town Byron...

Let it float by itself..

Fucking piece of iron!..

12-19-2008, 08:32 PM
My advice to future bribe :

Don't get married, silly!..

Morning comes - your boobs aside,

Snatch is rumbled illy...

01-07-2009, 06:19 PM
I like lyrics, but so sorry that I can?t write, but maybe I must trying :-D

01-31-2009, 06:45 AM
I do my thing and you do your thing

I am not in this world to live up to your expectations

And you are not in this world to live up to mine

You are You

and I am I

And if by chance we find each other

it is beautiful!

When you try your best, but you don't succeed

When you get what you want, but not what you need

When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep

Stuck in reverse

When the tears come streaming down your face

When you loose something you can't replace

When you love someone, but it goes to waste

Could it be worse?
